Skype removed from China Apple and Android app stores

Skype’s call and messaging service has been removed from app stores in China, including the Apple app store. Apple says it is one of several apps to have been removed after the government said it does not comply with local law. Skype owner Microsoft told the BBC the app had been “temporarily removed” and the company was “working to reinstate the app as soon as possible”. Foxconn stops interns’ illegal overtime at iPhone X factory

Foxconn, a main supplier for Apple’s iPhone, says it has stopped interns from working illegal overtime at its factory in China. It comes after a Financial Times report found at least six students worked 11-hour days at its iPhone X plant in Henan province. The practice breached Chinese laws preventing children from working more than 40 hours per week. About 3,000 students were reportedly hired to work at the Zhengzhou plant. Bitcoin has begun trading on a major exchange for the first time.

The digital currency launched on the CBOE futures exchange in Chicago at 23:00 GMT Sunday, allowing investors to bet on whether Bitcoin prices will rise or fall. Its value had surged in the run-up to its futures debut, which saw it rise another 17% to above $18,000.
