We the Movement for the Kingdom Image (MFKI) deem it appropriate and reasonable to entreat the Ghana Government to immediately place a ban on Chinese citizens from entering Ghana and also start the process of deporting all Chinese nationals residing in the country and engaging in illegal mining or galamsey.
We think the approach to fighting the worry-some Galamsey pandemic which has become a modern day threat to our country is too soft and diplomatic, hence the inability to produce any proper results and unable to stop it.
The reason why the country has not been able to achieve her objectives in the fight against the galamsey carcass is because we have not been vigorous in our combat against the deadly practice carried out by even non-nationals who at the end of the day use the gold they get to enrich themselves and their country’s (China) economy, leaving Ghanaians to suffer the penalties for it which are hunger, diseases, drought, and loss of our biodiversity.
In as much as Ghana needs to have a better international relations with other nations, it is also very important we don’t tray our country’s future for danger, but maintain the progress of our country, our citizens and natural resources for our future generations.
Again, Ghanaians cannot go to China and practice anything illegal there. We must maintain that standard of national dignity and make sure these Chinese troublers are banned from coming to Ghana and also go ahead to deport the unscrupulous ones who are already in the country.
We need no more protocol approach to fighting these greedy and ungrateful Chinese other than dealing with them vigorously by enforcing our deportation laws to be able to stop any sort of illegal mining processes in our dear country.
